The Hawai‘i State Bar Association’s Appellate Section is devoted to promoting excellence in the practice of appellate law. Its members include practitioners from the private and government sectors, appellate court judges and justices, and appellate court law clerks and staff attorneys. The purpose of the Appellate Section is to enhance the role and skills of members of the Hawai‘i State Bar Association who practice appellate law through monthly meetings, continuing legal education, the publication of the Hawai‘i Appellate Practice Manual (in conjunction with the Hawai‘i State Bar Association), and the dissemination of materials on matters of interest and concern to the membership. The Appellate Section also promotes the exchange of ideas among the membership, and encourages members to participate with the Hawai‘i State Bar Association and the Hawai‘i Judiciary to improve appellate practice in Hawai‘i.
